Classes & Workshops

Reiki Classes

Reiki is Universal Life Energy. As taught by Dr. Usui, it has a simple set of procedures to follow which were passed down to each of the Reiki Masters who followed his teachings together with a basic set of Reiki principles.

Reiki is experienced through the hands as a subtle yet powerful flow of healing energy. It is a hands-on experience which is spiritual in nature and therefore cannot be directed or manipulated in any way. Reiki by-passes the symptom and goes to the cause of the problem to create a space for healing.

Reiki reminds the body of its natural ability to heal on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Level I

A powerful weekend to explore the frequency and empower your journey of healing. You will learn about metaphysics and begin understanding of how illness works in our lives. By the end of the weekend, you will be able to Reiki yourself and another.

Level II (prerequisite Reiki I)

When your heart calls out for more, Reiki II will give you the ability to connect with the genius part of you to empower your journey, and do absent healings on another. This technique gives word to the Reiki frequency which brings both understanding and healing to your world.

Children’s Reiki

Children’s Reiki Classes empower the natural healing ability of each individual child and offer an opportunity for the child to step into the celebration of their own brilliance and Truth. Children leave the classes inspired and empowered with Reiki in their hands. We have witnessed Reiki become a trusted and reliable friend on individual Children’s journeys through childhood and beyond.

Labyrinth

The labyrinth is a powerful and ancient symbol of unity and wholeness, based on the circle and the spiral The origin of the labyrinth is unknown – it seems to have been in existence since the dawn of mankind. In ancient times, the labyrinth appears to have been used for ceremonies and rites. Today, it has been rediscovered as a spiritual tool – a means of meditation, self-reflection and catalyst for personal growth. It has been called a journey to the centre of the soul. The mysterious winding path that that leads to the centre can become a mirror for our own lives and a metaphor for our spiritual journey.

Our labyrinth design has been painted on a thirty-six foot square piece of sail cloth (see labyrinth picture in the gallery). It has been based on the labyrinth in Chartres Cathedral in France. This labyrinth was built into the floor of the cathedral at the time the cathedral was constructed and was an integral component of the cathedral’s design and ritual.

Our labyrinth is laid out in the park or gymnasium on special occasions and at group workshops as a tool for personal work and reflection. If you would like to experience the labyrinth as part of your group gatherings, it is available by donation. Several members of our community will lay down the labyrinth and hold resonance during your ceremony. An introductory talk can also be provided if desired. Contact the Toronto Usui Reiki Group for arrangements.
